Wedding Dress made out of inside-out gloves

When looking at this picture I thought that it was a very creative way of making a weeding dress different then the rest. Not only are gloves considered a recyclable material but it was use to create a beautiful wedding dress. The finger parts of the glove give the dress an appearance of ruffles.  This is something out of the ordinary. Who would ever think that gloves could make something elegant

  1. Fascinating and a bit creepy. One thing that interests me is the way this puts together two opposite concepts. There's the white wedding dress that traditionally symbolized sexual purity, but it's composed of stand-ins for hands all over the bride's body. It's also got the play of the opposites of disposable/recyclable vs elegance/permanence. These gloves aren't silk or satin - they are rubber/latex disposable gloves of the kind that are worn in medical and scientific settings. This pulls together the ideas of cold/clinical/scientific vs warmth/love/family. Another interesting set of opposites
